Executive Director
Hi, I’m Richard. I’ve kind of always been a storyteller. When I was a kid, that meant staging pirate raids with LEGO minifigs, drawing maps while creating games with rules on whiteboards, and donning my dragon dagger as the Green Ranger to protect the front yard from waves of putties (iykyk). I was always making something up, usually dragging my little brother along for the adventure. These days, the stories are bigger and the tools more refined, but I still end every great quest the same way I did back then: with close friends and family, a climactic finish/cliffhanger, and winding down with a nice bowl of cereal and a head full of ideas for the next game.
Now I channel that same creative chaos into tabletop roleplaying games. I’m a forever GM who builds worlds, spins stories, and gives players the space to grow their characters in ways that matter. When I do play, I tend to lean bard: clever, talkative, always looking for the creative way out. Roleplay and character arcs are where the game comes alive for me. I’m not in it for the combat; I’m in it for the conversation after.
Outside the game, I work with my hands. I like a big yard or house project, the kind where you can step back and see what you made. That’s when the weather here cooperates, of course. I share my life with three incredible dogs, Lady, Evie, and Maeve, and my fiancée, Francesca, who supports every new idea I throw at the wall. After a long day of writing or running sessions, I settle in with something familiar. Recently, it’s been a bowl of cereal with a fun show on TV — As a note, the cereal is Froot Loops with Marshmallows (they’re very underrated; if you haven’t had them, you definitely should), but Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Frosted Flakes are longtime favorites.
I spend a lot of time thinking about characters I’ll never play, stories I might tell, and moments that will matter to people at the table. Sometimes I game. Sometimes I nap. Sometimes I just sit and rest with Francesca and the girls. But whatever I’m doing, I try to bring the same energy to it: something thoughtful, something kind, something that makes the space a little better than it was before.
If you leave this page feeling a little more inspired, a little more grounded, or at the very least craving some Froot Loops with Marshmallows, then I think we’re off to a pretty good start.
